Ali Longridge PhD MScAc MBAcC AFN ACT

Ali has 15 years experience specialising in gynaecology, male and female fertility, pregnancy and post-natal care. She practices at York Clinic for Integrated Healthcare, and lives in Strensall with her husband and children. She holds a PhD in Health Sciences (as applied to acupuncture in gynaecology) from the University of York and a Masters in Acupuncture (MSc) with distinction from the Northern College of Acupuncture and University of Wales. She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC) and co-founder of ACT Yorkshire.

Catherine Wright MA, Dip Ac, MBAcC

I trained at the Northern College of Acupuncture, and have over 10 years experience of working with women and couples through their fertility and pregnancy journey.
I hold post-graduate qualifications in fertility acupuncture and obstetric acupuncture, and have been a member of ACT Yorkshire since it was set up. I am experienced in supporting both natural fertility and assisted conception, and enjoy working with women throughout pregnancy. I offer birth preparation acupuncture, and acupressure which birth partners are very welcome to attend too. As well as acupuncture, I use cupping, moxibustion, Tui Na and dietary therapy in my practice.
I work in York and Pocklington. I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council.

Jane Marsh RM BSc MSc MBAcC

Jane has over 20 years health care experience, first as a nurse and then a midwife. She graduated from The Northern College Of Acupuncture 5 years ago and then went on to complete her Masters in Acupuncture (MSc) with a research project looking at acupuncture in pregnancy. Jane has experience treating women who are trying to conceive (or needing IVF) as well as successfully combining her midwifery experience and acupuncture skills to care for and advise women on all aspects of pregnancy and childbirth.

June Tranmer, BA (Hons), Dip Ac, PGCE, MBAcC

Touch for Health Instructor since 1987. Acupuncturist (Northern College of Acupuncture) since 1991. Paediatric Acupuncturist since 1994. PGCE in 2000. On-going training includes mentoring and supervision, Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture and Egyptian Sekhem Healing. Previously regional group co-ordinator for York and N Yorkshire. Currently Continuing Professional Development facilitator for all the Yorkshire counties. Opened The Healing Clinic in 1992, moved to York city centre in 2007. I am passionate about helping babies and their parents get a good start and preventing potential problems in the future. I have attended 13 births, both at the York Hospital and in homes in York, from 1992 to present.

Louise Wright Dip Ac, MBAcC Dip DH

Louise is an Acupuncturist and member of ACT Yorkshire. She has many years of experience in treating patients, and regularly attends Postgraduate training in all aspects of Fertility and Gynaecology as part of her CPD requirements. In the past she has also taught Body Work, at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York. Louise is known for her thoroughness and detailed understanding, from both a Western and Chinese Medicine perspective, whilst treating her patients. Louise offers a friendly, professional service to support both couples, during Natural Fertility, Assisted IVF, Pregnancy and Birth.

Harriet Lansdown MSc, MBAcC, FHEA, ACT

Harriet is an acupuncturist with over 20 years of experience and extensive post-graduate training in pregnancy, fertility and post-natal care. She is a friendly, down to earth acupuncturist who has helped many women have a happy, healthy pregnancy and birth. Alongside her practice, she is a visiting Research Fellow with the Health Sciences Dept of the University of York, and actively engages with the emerging research evidence for acupuncture to inform her clinical work. She is a founder member of ACT Yorkshire and the deputy clinical director of the York Clinic for Integrated Healthcare.

Tiziana Bertinotti BHSc (Acup), Adv Dipl Acup, BA (Hons), PGCE, ACT, MBAcC

I studied Chinese medicine at the Australian College of Natural medicine, Brisbane, Australia. I graduated with the Bachelor of |Health Science – Acupuncture, with the Award for ‘’The Most Outstanding Student Practitioner of Acupuncture’’ in my year.
I worked as a practitioner of Chinese medicine in various clinics in Brisbane as well as on a cruise ship as the official ‘’Resident Acupuncturist at Sea’’, before returning to England to set up my own practice York Traditional Acupuncture.
Within the ACT, I specialise in treating morning sickness, in preparing the body for labour, turning a breech baby, inducing labour and in post-natal care.
I am also the proud mother of a very happy and lively 6-year old little boy.

Jane Oglesby Dip Ac, MBAcC

Jane graduated from the Northern College of Acupuncture in 2006 and has been practicing acupuncture from the quaint North Yorkshire village of Helperby since then. As well as being a member of the Acupuncture Childbirth Team in Yorkshire, Jane has been a founder member of the Zita West Network for Reproductive Health, as an Affiliated Acupuncturist since 2008.

Amanda Preston BA (Hons), Lic Ac, MBAcC, ACT

Amanda obtained her degree in Acupuncture in 2004 from The College of Traditional Acupuncture, Leamington Spa. She has specialist training in the use of acupuncture for fertility problems, and has helped many couples to conceive.  She has attended post graduate courses on acupuncture for use in pregnancy, and is qualified to support you though from conception to childbirth, safely. She is a co-founder of ACT Yorkshire and her treatments may include acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping therapy and Tuina (Chinese medical massage).

Annette Lucas (MBAcC, MRSS(t), P.Dip Ac.)

Annette has been practicing therapies for over 12 years and has experience supporting women, birth partners and couples during their pregnancy journey.
Annette teaches at the Northern School of Shiatsu and practices various forms of massage, which she naturally integrates into her acupuncture sessions.
Since 1996, she has worked with women recovering from the effects of abuse and is aware that for some, pregnancy can be a time of heightened stress and vulnerability.
Annette co-founded Sheffield’s first low cost/multibed acupuncture clinic. She now enjoys co-running 4 Good Health, also host to Sheffield Pregnancy Clinic, where she offers both private and low cost therapies.
I do not attend births at present (young child myself!) but do offer a home visit during the post natal period.
